I made this exactly as prepared and it was delicious. The merely communication I can requite is to be sure and not over-cook the noodles, mayhap even but cook them al dente to exist sure they don't come up out mushy. Fantabulous combination of flavors! This will be one of our favorites.
05/21/2001
This was pretty good. I used low fatty ground beef; low fat/low sodium soup and low fat cheddar. My husband liked it more I did. I'll get in once again to keep him happy!
03/22/2006
This is excellent! I accept been making this for months now, I'm finally getting effectually to reviewing it. I brand this exactly except that I mix the parm in. The sherry gives it a very rich season and the soup makes it luscious and creamy. My hubby thinks it tastes like lasagna. Some reviewers have mentioned that baking is unneccesary, I dissagree. The baking melds the flavors together and requite the noodles a lovely soft texture,(be sure to cook al dente to start). It is all then worth the effort!
12/04/2002
Husband said to requite it 4 stars. He did consume two large helpings. After reading the reviews, I but used 1/eight cup sherry and baked it for 15 minutes, merely to let the Parmesan cheese cook on meridian. I used shredded parmesan instead of grated. The sherry definitely gave information technology a unique flavour that I enjoyed, but don't remember I would have wanted more in the sauce. I besides used a mexican blend cheese because I didn't have the cheddar cheese. Next time I might try using at least one can of tomato sauce to replace one of the cans of soup.
x/10/2002
I love sherry in certain dishes, simply this wasn't i of them. If you like hamburger helper (which is good for quickie night dinners when yous have to run with the kids) try it, only use marinara sauce instead of the soup. At to the lowest degree you don't accept to worry about all of the chemicals as you would in the boxed stuff.
eleven/29/2001
Yum, yum! This is truly a comfort food with reminders of casseroles from my youth. I added onion and canned mushroom pieces and left out the sherry and everyone LOVED this recipe. It is to go one of our often served fall & winter meals! Cheers.
xi/08/2001
Very easy and adept! Made it lowfat past using ground turkey, lowfat tomato soup, and omitting the cheese. Yet turned out great! Thank you for the recipe!
03/xvi/2002
Was pretty good. I don't know why you bake information technology, everything is already mixed, cooked and hot when y'all put it in oven. I felt this footstep was more than time consuming.
01/03/2005
Husband liked it, but I didn't. Something was missing, don't think I'll make again, lamentable
02/25/2003
Nosotros actually enjoyed this and it was a snap to put together! I used whole wheat egg noodles instead of regular and sauteed a chopped onion along with the ground beef. My husband LOVED it! It's a great weeknight meal and very satisfying.
02/26/2003
I thought this was going to be then adept merely information technology ended up beingness Hamburger Helper. It was an verbal copy of hamburger helper which you can but in the store for 1/10 of the cost this took to set up. Not my favorite.
11/02/2002
My family liked this recipe. I left the sherry out, considering I didn't have any on hand. I retrieve it turned out fine. A neat recipe when your pantry in depression and coin is tight. Will brand again for sure.
07/21/2011
This recipe is fantastic! My hubby and I both loved information technology. The only thing I inverse was considering I only had 1 tin can of tomato plant soup, so also added a small can of tomato paste and a can of water. Everything else stayed the same and it is really a keeper. ( I dear this website.)
xi/08/2006
This is actually surprizingly good! Information technology is a lot like Hamburger Helper but information technology is bootleg, and just as easy! I used more than noodles than the recipe chosen for, did not add the sherry (I forgot), added more than seasonings, and did not bake. Information technology turned out very well. A practiced, quick, and piece of cake meal that will delight kids and adults alike!
03/25/2003
This is a very easy and tasty goulash. I added a tin can of sliced mushrooms and a tin can of drained diced tomatoes and it turned out first-class!
09/26/2010
So my family unit has a deep loathing of casseroles, and then I did non anticipate whatsoever happy kids, only they loved information technology! 10/x/2002
this was so easy to make ... i didnt use the sherry... doubled the recipe and had more than than enough for two nites of dinner ,.. tastes just as good on the 2nd nite.... if not better :o)
03/xix/2007
Yummy! I loved information technology, hubby thought that the cheese was non melty enough. That was probably because I used reduced fat cheddar - I notwithstanding thought it was great. With regular cheese would take been even creamier. Crawly :)
12/25/2001
Wonderful casserole, I fabricated information technology for a political party a couple of weeks ago and information technology was gone beginning
02/28/2007
Not a gourmet repast but deserves 5 stars in my volume. Information technology it not only tastes good but it's quick and like shooting fish in a barrel. I added a lilliputian chopped onion and some italian seasoning while the ground beefiness was browing. I only had ane tin of tomato soup and so I substitued a tin of golden mushroom for the 2d can of soup. I also substitued cherry-red vino for the sherry. I broiled it in the oven every bit directed and it didn't come out dry at all. Cracking recipe, thanks for sharing!
09/04/2007
Just go along the sherry out and this is a proficient recipe.
04/07/2002
I actually loved this recipe. My roommates and friends are already asking for it over again.
10/10/2000
Simply fabricated this for dinner tonight. Really fast, piece of cake and the odor of information technology cooking is sensational. Reminds of a much better, homemade version of Hamburger Helper.
03/06/2009
This was very good and easy to brand. I cut the cheese in half to reduce fatty, but I must admit, I recollect I could accept left the cheddar cheese out completely. I tasted the sauce as we went forth and I liked it better before the cheese. I do recollect it was good baked in the oven. I will exist making this again for sure, but without the cheese.
10/sixteen/2000
All I had were the skinny egg noodles, only it worked great! I'll definately make information technology again!
07/fifteen/2006
Very tasty! I didnt have whatsoever egg noodles at the time and then I substituted it for normal pasta. Just equally practiced! Just for some added flavor I served corn bread off to the side.
11/23/2002
This is unproblematic... and AWESOME! Family unit snarfed information technology down night one... with NO leftovers :*( Fabulous!
11/02/2000
This recipe was easy to make, but was very bland. I added an onion, extra garlic, and extra noodles and it still was just o.k. tasting. I will endeavor it 1 more fourth dimension, but I think I will use love apple sauce instead of soup. All I could taste was that "soup" gustation.
xi/13/2001
A good quick meal for those who enjoy flavor! Unfortunately, a bit too much season for the kids. I recommend serving them before adding the sherry and parmesan cheese.
06/29/2000
This is a bully recipe. I added some mushrooms and black olives and information technology was a hitting!
06/08/2004
Yum yum yum yum yum. Im definitely making this again. I did make some changes like adding veges, using tomato sauce instead of soup and reducing the worcestershire sauce and information technology turned out great. Next time I retrieve Ill add more pasta and garlic pulverization and then this may even become the all-time recipe Ive found notwithstanding.
01/22/2002
I an pitiful simply this was awful! I similar Hamburger Helper but this was not. Read other reviews and I am glad I cut back the worchestire sauce to 1 T and cutting out the sherry. My husband who hates Hamburger Helper really liked information technology?! I am glad he did because I would have thrown this away. I am deplorable it didn't turn out as it sounded really skillful. I also thought using tomato sauce instead of tomato plant soup. Pitiful!
01/04/2003
Good, but seems to be missing something. I'thou going to endeavor adding some dark-green peppers and cayenne pepper next time.
01/15/2004
My family loved this. I used pasta twists because I didn't have egg noodles. Anybody wanted seconds!
01/30/2001
The sherry gives this an unusual flavor.. I might make it with white vino side by side time. But it's definitely a keeper.. even better the next day as leftovers!
x/19/2001
I fixed this recipe for my children and they all had to taste the sauce while it was simmering. Unfortunately, the sherry was more than than a trivial overwhelming and they didn't like the finished product. I will definitley make this again, but I'll exit out the sherry. Cyndy
05/08/2006
Pretty Good. I used red wine instead of the sherry.
07/19/2006
I made this two nights ago and information technology got a big old thumbs upwards from my family unit. I actually put the noodles in uncooked and increased the water to 1 cup, then the baking time to 1 hour and it was actually skillful. Thanks for sharing!!!!
05/29/2011
This is an awesome repast! I beloved it! Sometimes I make it with out the meat if I dont take it! Either way I love it! Thanks for sharing the repast, I loved it! Your Fan, Ivy Liedl
02/10/2003
YUMMY!!! I added half an onion and some frozen veges and used port instead of sherry because I didn't have any. The result was excellent. This is not a gourmet repast but information technology is inexpensive, like shooting fish in a barrel and satisfying.
03/thirteen/2002
A really proficient recipe overall. The meal was a hit with the family. Although the kids didn't take to it as well as the adults it was tasty and extremely easy to make. It is a dish that works well on the day information technology is fabricated just is a little dry the day after.
07/06/2008
My husband LOVES this recipe and this is really the only thing that he begs me to brand over and over once more. He likes it way better than I practise, (it's skillful, just not my fave) simply it is and then easy, that I can hands whip it together in no time! To me information technology is like a 'glorified' hamburger helper' merely married man ADORES it so I accept made it about 4 times already! He is request for information technology once more, which is why I thought to bound on and requite a review. Thanks for the recipe!
12/08/2001
This was just ok. My husband said information technology tasted similar Hamburger Helper and I had to agree.
11/04/2002
My married man an I really enjoy this cozy wintertime time meal. All the right flavors and easy to brand. It'south a keeper!
06/20/2000
This recipe is Swell! My husband practically ate the whole thing and wanted me to make more than the next night...And the greatest compliment of all is that my very finicky nine-year-old stepdaughter really liked it as well and it'southward normally a challenge getting her to eat anything. As for myself, it'south i of my favorites dishes.
01/05/2010
This was very simple to make and I loved it. You can play around with the recipe besides...IU added peas to mine. Married man was not thrilled with it but x twelvemonth erstwhile loved it...4 yr one-time thought it was just ok but there were peas in it so that is kind of a bargain billow for him lol. I am going to play effectually with information technology because it is a expert meal for nights when time is an upshot.
06/10/2007
this recipe was tasteless. nosotros did not care for it at all.
eleven/08/2010
As a mom of two busy boys (ages v & viii) I am e'er looking for piece of cake, good recipes. This is BOTH! I had everything I needed on hand. I did skip the sherry as sometimes alcohol imparts a flavour in food that I don't like, but this recipe comes highly recommended.
x/18/2002
MMMMMMM very good.. and like shooting fish in a barrel to prepare..
10/26/2001
This was a disappointing meal. Only my daughter liked it and that's probably but because she's merely eighteen-months-erstwhile. Every bit for my husband and I, we didn't like the flavor. Even though I put in a full 8 oz. of medium cheddar cheese and 1/4 cup parmesean, the dish didn't taste cheesy at all.
ten/03/2000
Delicious, bang-up aroma, good comfort food!
12/02/2004
Bang-up base, tin can be 5-star with changes: I replaced one tin of soup with a can of love apple sauce, reduced West sauce, cheese and sherry a little, added green pepper, onion and garlic. Baked for 15 minutes, and so sprinkled with parm and continued. Like Homemade Hamburger Helper!
08/19/2009
I asked my married man if he wanted me to make this again. He responded with "I guess but not very often". It gets some stars for convienience, just the taste is far from spectacular. I would have been happier with Hamburger Helper.
ten/24/2006
This was really skilful! My family just loved it. Information technology is just as easy every bit hamburger helper, but so much improve.
04/02/2011
tried it with elbow noodles and no sherry and it turned out great!
03/12/2010
piece of cake simple and a skillful gustation
08/08/2005
My daughter 4 years old (fussy eater) ate this recipee up..Then did I. Very unproblematic and quick.
02/27/2003
Tastes merely like spaghetti (in instance yous are out of spaghetti sauce)
10/06/2001
My husband volition "never" eat hamburger helper. But he will eat this over and over and over! Tasty and slightly sweet.
07/14/2001
Tasted pretty good only was a scrap greasy for my taste. I retrieve I might attempt reduced fat cheese the adjacent time but over all it'south a pretty good recipe. The kids loved it and my hubby really thought it was good! Don't hesitate to give it a attempt.
05/10/2007
I'chiliad pitiful only I didn't like this at all. Which surprised me, considering I dear anything with tomato soup! I had to cover information technology with garlic pulverisation and table salt and pepper merely to be able to eat information technology. Yuck.
05/17/2012
Added a little Italian seasoning, & a can of corn (drained) into the casserole just to add a petty sweetness. Overall a really good recipe that my family loved, even the footling ane yr. old!
04/03/2006
VERY skillful. I added nigh a cup each of sauteed celery, onion and green pepper. Information technology merely added a chip more involvement and alot more flavor.
05/05/2009
This sounds wonderful simply in the review of the recipe she puts "cut green beans". Where are the greenish beans in the recipe?
10/xix/2005
Great recipe....the whole family loved information technology! It'south uncomplicated and very tasty. I have used reddish wine instead of sherry and information technology gives it a more mellow flavour. Very proficient!!
03/22/2007
I did not intendance for this at all. My husband liked information technology, but it just didn't agree with me. I don't know what it was nearly it that I didn't like. Maybe the Sherry? Peradventure the worcestershire sauce (which is odd since I LOVE worcestershire sauce)? I followed the recipe exactly and it came out looking exactly like the picture. I gauge it's merely me??
05/24/2007
Information technology was okay. My kids didn't really like it, and so it won't exist fabricated at our house again!!
06/23/2000
This is a keen recipe! Anybody in my family unit loved information technology. I had to make a few adjustments...I didn't accept egg noodles, then I used elbow macaroni. Too, I didn't have sherry, and then I just didn't add together it or anything else as a replacement. I used garlic pulverization instead of real garlic. The recipe doesn't say when to add the cheddar cheese, so I stirred 3/iv of it into the mixture before pouring information technology into a casserole dish, and so sprinkled the residue on summit (instead of parmesan). I guess maybe I made a whole new recipe, simply the basic premise was from this recipe, and it did plow out corking!
12/05/2005
This was expert, but side by side time I will use a dissimilar pasta as the egg noodles become besides soggy for my gustation. I didn't accept sherry so I used white wine instead and added some chopped onion to the beef.
ten/04/2001
This tasted like Spaghettios to me.
xi/15/2000
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was very tasty and easy to fix. I had the sherry on hand and used information technology equally directed, although I was initially a bit unsure near it and it actually worked well. We used a stiff-ish cheddar cheese which added a bit of zip to the dish. I'll definately be trying this ane again.
02/11/2001
this was very tasty and really easy to make. my boyfriend and i both loved information technology, and nosotros gladly ate the leftovers!
02/19/2003
I made this for my fellow, his family unit, and his longtime friends on a snowy weekend. It was a huge hitting! Even the pickiest eaters came dorsum for more. Excellent dish -- hearty, hot, and filling.
04/11/2001
I served this last night- last minute actually. Very easy, very practiced. Used rotini inplace of noodles. Volition put this in the "active file." thanks.
03/31/2003
This was good my husband and iii twelvemonth sometime liked it, simply something tasted off to me. I don't know if information technology was the sherry (I've never used information technology before) or the soup (I've never had tomato soup.) I call up I volition try information technology next time with tomato sauce and run into what happens. My husband who won't eat Hamburger Helper said he definitely wants me to make this agian.
02/27/2001
This was super easy to make. My 2 & 4 twelvemonth olds loved information technology & so did my VERY picky married man. Reminded me of a gourmet hamburger helper, but non salty & had more flavor. I didn't have any sherry so I put in a blood-red zinfandel instead & it tasted cracking!
09/14/2001
I omitted the sherry but it still was quite tasty. My husband says this is like a glorified hamburger helper, but much tastier. My daughters enjoyed this too.
11/09/2005
DEE-LISH!!! This was a very good recipe, I added some cut green beans. I will probably add together some mushrooms next time.
01/20/2006
Very prissy, I didn't use tomato soup but used diced tomatos instead and added frozen vegies as well. Information technology was delicious I had ii rounds.
09/10/2006
We enjoyed. Very unproblematic to make. Added Italian seasoning but otherwise kept equally written. My husband thought it still needed something more but my youngest son and I really enjoyed equally is. Made with Dilly Cheese Wheat Bread from this site. Thanks
11/02/2007
I needed dinner - fast. This recipe was alright. Very, very easy to prepare, but information technology was a tad salty and needed something more than to complete it. Oh, and it was besides soupy, as in as well much sauce. I liked the love apple soup flavor but at that place was too much and side by side time I volition cook more pasta. My ii young boys ate information technology simply I wish I had included a veggie in the dish. I might make this again if I am in a bind. The ingredients are pantry staples and equally I mentioned earlier, information technology was very easy to assemble.
08/21/2006
This casserole was actually bang-up! Nosotros made it exactly according to the directions, I was worried that there was too much cheese, but once the sherry is added information technology thins out nicely and has a swell flavour. It's also not super huge, so plan for v max adult servings.
01/sixteen/2009
I cooked the noodles al dente, mixed in the parmesan, omitted the sherry, and added mixed frozen vegetables. My BF thought I'd made Hamburger Helper, which I never buy, and he loves! If y'all're looking for a gourmet recipe, this isn't it, but if you're looking for something quick and tasty, this is information technology.
03/04/2003
Anybody in my family enjoyed this. My husband said I take to brand it once again. It reminded me of hamburger helper, only meliorate. I really liked the gustation of the sherry. I never used sherry to cook with before. I used the 1/four cup of sherry and it did not overpower the recipe. I will make this again only nextime I will add mushrooms. Thanks for the reecipe.
12/06/2006
I make this recipe at to the lowest degree twice a month in the winter, my family loves it and it is and then easy to make! The sherry is essential as it adds then much flavor to the repast. I highly recommend this recipe, information technology is also great as leftovers!
01/xiv/2002
I rated everything about this recipe 1 star. Information technology was then yucky! Thank God I made a salad too or we would take had no dinner!!! YUCKY!
03/31/2012
I did non care for this recipe.
05/27/2007
We call information technology gourmet Hamburger Helper. Great sense of taste - easy meal!
ten/21/2001
My picky kids fifty-fifty liked it! Kept arguing with me, 'It looks similar chili, it smells similar chili" then now we call it, "No, it's NOT chili"
08/05/2000
This was good and my kids enjoyed it just I thought it could use a fleck of a zing. Maybe Italian sausage or seasoning. Volition definitely brand it over again.
01/06/2001
I would not make this recipe again. Information technology was a bit time consuming and tastewise not every bit good as hoped for. My husband did not treat and he is not a fussy eater.
04/sixteen/2003
I did not like this dish just my husband and blood brother liked information technology. The just affair I found good nigh this dish was the olfactory property and the fourth dimension it took to cook. Sorry but only not for me.
03/18/2004
This was a good recipe. The sherry adds a nice twist to the flavor. Will use this recipe again.
09/26/2006
Absolutely, Delicous!
06/28/2003
Tastes like eating beef and noodles coated in Worchestershire sauce, used ALOT of dishes. Maybe would be amend with Worchestershire cut in half, and not baking it.
01/22/2003
We're a casserole loving family and this was a hit. My kids (12 & fifteen) really enjoyed it. I did add only half the amount of sherry--which seemed ample. I'll definitely make this again as the ingredients are fairly like shooting fish in a barrel to have on mitt.
07/10/2006
I idea this dish was rather plain tasting, but it may exist because I did not use the sherry.
12/13/2007
This was elementary and constructive. Next time, I will cut dorsum on the love apple soup..perhaps merely 1 i/two cans and some milk or water to make upward the liquid deficiency. Otherwise, information technology was "right on fourth dimension" for dinner.
