Divinity Enhanced Edition Rock Paper Scissors Winning Agains Cecilia
OP | I am distressing merely this has to be THE most abrasive aspect of this game, youre wandering along soaking up all of the atmo , and of a sudden BAM youre in a "intimate",amuse, reason" chat, with someone that has twice you "amuse" value to win that bloody animation rock, paper, pen., no expect ..toilet roll,mud,sword..no wait.. I accept to end writing at present as theres steam coming out of my ears.. what a stupid idea for a mini game. Last edited by strontium; 29/07/14 11:46 PM. |

You lot also pull a bush out of thin air and shuffle around with it when you want to sneak. If your argument is that the minigame is poorly designed, I am betting you don't fully understand how it works - and I don't blame you. It's not well explained. Every time you win, at RPS, yous get some points. First person to get 10 points wins the argument. The number of points you get is based on your Charisma. More Charisma = more points per win. It'due south essentially comparing your persuasiveness vs their persuasiveness, and adding in a bit of randomness. Kind of like how attacking someone works. If you lot want to win arguments, increase your Charisma. That's what it's for. |

Y The number of points you become is based on your Charisma. More than Charisma = more points per win. Give thanks You I missed this past the beta ~ so Charisma is the #, and Intimidate / Charm / Reason is the strategy! This makes a lot more sense now. It besides explains why some conversations were getting random -/+ to them. You're correct - this is *actually* not explained at all. (And in beta, Charm / Reason were different skills, so...) OP | i am aware of the necessary requirements , that's not my point, it doesn't matter HOW many points you have in charm, if you don't chose correct a gear up amount of times , you lose , and bam you lot terminate up in a fight scene , and i take tried that "skip" before and all that happens is ,once more yous lose the argument , and , once more you lot are in a fighting scene, its bad in the mines , you wander around a corner right into a grouping of immaculates , and if you lot lose , which is very 50/50, yous stop upwardly killing someone you could have got some useful info out of. Its not that this little mini-game is in that location, its the "rock, paper, scissors " idea itself.Personally i have NEVER in my life played or seen other people play this kind of game, so why is it presented here as if anybody knows about it? |

information technology doesn't matter HOW many points y'all take in charm, if y'all don't chose right a prepare corporeality of times , you lose , and bam y'all end up in a fight scene Only press spacebar to skip the minigame. Personally i accept NEVER in my life played or seen other people play this kind of game, and so why is it presented hither every bit if everyone knows near information technology? You've never heard of Rock, Paper, Pair of scissors? To summarize the rules: The game prevents ties from happening, unless you're playing confronting another homo. i am aware of the necessary requirements , that's not my signal, it doesn't matter HOW many points you have in charm, if y'all don't chose right a set amount of times , you lose , and bam you lot end up in a fight scene , and i accept tried that "skip" before and all that happens is ,over again yous lose the argument , and , over again you are in a fighting scene, its bad in the mines , you wander effectually a corner right into a group of immaculates , and if you lose , which is very 50/l, yous end up killing someone yous could accept got some useful info out of. Its not that this little mini-game is there, its the "rock, newspaper, scissors " idea itself.Personally i accept NEVER in my life played or seen other people play this kind of game, and so why is information technology presented here as if everyone knows about information technology? It is only 50/fifty if you exercise not get how the AI is playing the game. If you lot sympathize how it works, it becomes non simply easy to win, just requires not even very high amuse values, because with merely 5 points you need to win only twice, while most opponents demand to win iv times. Besides that: Stone, Paper, Scissor is as basic knowledge as why the heaven is blue or tictactoe. *shrugs |

I must acknowledge, I don't similar it either. But there's really a cheat for this which makes the whole matter much more than bearable. When the RPS screen pops upwards, just press ] to switch to your other character, and so printing [ to switch back. Y'all'll instantly win the statement |
| |
now I e'er printing infinite bar to skip it and I reload if this does not suit me. I don't like the take a chance concept in RPG, this is not fair, this is something that annoys me. Suppose yous are someone not lucky, y'all never get annihilation proficient in chests & boss, while your lucky friends are covered with aureate and bored because it'south also piece of cake. I prefer when nosotros become something by deserve and not by chance. But I agree that a minimum of chance is necessary in RPG, merely in small doses. |
| |
OP | I am aware of the game itself , just that i don't recollect its very appropriate in this "fantasy/medieval" kind of world. Its sort of out of identify.Maybe moonstone, parchment, hatchett? or something like.. |
| |
I completely hold with strontium. Fifty-fifty when y'all pump 15 points into charisma, you still can lose if y'all're unlucky. This tiresome minigame brings no challenge or fun to the game. It'southward a nuisance. Yes, you can skip it with space, just then the winner will be chosen at random. I didn't put 15 points in charisma for that. |
| |
I actually only finish doing the game and simply hitting the infinite bar now and live with whatever the consequences are. I just got really tired of losing fights with myself and ending up just not doing what I wanted to do. Now I only don't care anymore. Form even if losing the RPS puts me out of a fight I wanted to start, I can all the same just smack the enemy anyway and still have the fight. Had to practice that with a troll and his kid that were guarding a bridge ... along with a few others. |
| |
To exist honest, I really like the random component of the rock-scissor-paper mechanics! I never know what the outcome will be and it is something which gives additional season to the game IMO. I also never reload if I lose the argument, just but go ahead with the consequences and the fights. |
| |
The random component represents the idea that even the best debaters volition run into an argument that just doesn't become their manner. If information technology was always an instant win only by having X charisma, that would go slow rapidly. or but choose any he chose last I recall this theory started back in beta with an observation from Stabbey, just it just isn't true. Many times this "strategy" has bitten me in the rear. For all intents and purposes, information technology'south random. |

But Apocalypse... OOOHHH! I KNOW THIS ONE!!! Considering if the sky were greenish, we would never know where to stop mowing the lawn. I'm smart and I know stuff! |
| |
When I landed in Cyseal Mayor'due south wife's bathroom I had merely 2 points against her v. The victory... how should I put this... was sweet as fresh watermelon in a hot 24-hour interval. But after about one-half of the game I got tired, peculiarly when I wanted to get a desirable issue from my characters' quarrel and failed iii times in a row. Then I started using that little crook Klixen mentioned. Merely when I started a new playthrough with my friend and succeeded in convincing her, that we should impale the craven for the army, past winning 4 consecutive times after she was only one point from winning... how should I put this... it was like finding a concluding piece of a block in a fridge when you wake up hungry in the center of the night. And I had no regrets that it earned me an unfavourable trait. Her cry of despair was so worth information technology. Last edited by Raheth; 30/07/14 05:37 PM. |

snip Also that: Stone, Newspaper, Scissor is equally basic knowledge as why the sky is blue or tictactoe. *shrugs It is very basic cognition that the sky is blue. I recollect y'all would be surprised as to how many people have no thought as to WHY it'southward blue. Equally far equally RPS being a very common two person game, yeah I would agree with that. Didn't it start in Japan or Communist china or somewhere similar that? Form with the electronic age upon us I'thou sure there are more and more kids these days that never play it ... well unless it'due south arranged into a game like DOS.
